SPENCER DONATES TO PATERSON HABITAT FOR HUMANITY AND EMPLOYEES SPEND DAY BUILDING NEW HOME

ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (June 24, 2010) – Spencer Savings Bank, headquartered in Elmwood Park, collaborated with the Paterson Habitat for Humanity for a Build Day on Tuesday, June 22nd. This effort reflects the bank’s long-standing commitment to its local community and to creating opportunities that enrich the lives others. In addition to participating in the Build Day, Spencer made a $2,000 donation to the Paterson Habitat for Humanity.

Employee volunteers spent the day doing light carpentry and framing for a three family housing unit in Paterson. Upon completion, this housing will be offered for a modified price to three income-qualified families. This home will also be an environmentally certified "green" house. The Paterson Habitat for Humanity is committed to providing affordable housing that is energy-efficient, environmentally responsible and economical to maintain.
