Spencer Savings Bank spent Valentine’s Day volunteering for a “Day of Love and Compassion” at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ). Spencer employees teamed up with other bankers at the Hillside, New Jersey warehouse to participate in a volunteer day, which was part of the 1 Million Meals Campaign initiative led by NJBankers.

“Valentine’s Day is not just a time to express love and appreciation to those closest to us – it’s an opportunity to extend our hearts to those in need. This year, we’re honoring that spirit by giving back to our New Jersey neighbors, volunteering at an organization that’s on the front lines of the fight against hunger,” said Janel Bazih, Vice President and Head of Marketing at Spencer. “We’re proud to support this campaign, led by NJ Bankers, to work together to make a tangible difference. We thank them for their leadership in uniting our efforts, and hope our collective actions inspire even more compassion and support within our community.”

NJBankers has partnered with the Community FoodBank of New Jersey with a mission of donating one million meals to families in need by 2027. Bankers across the state are stepping up as champions in the fight against hunger, dedicating their resources and time to help achieve this goal. As a proud participant in the 1 Million Meals Campaign, Spencer has contributed both volunteer support and financial donations, reinforcing its commitment to making a meaningful impact in the communities where we live, work and serve.

“NJBankers and the New Jersey banking community are dedicated to raising awareness and combating food insecurity in our communities,” said John Mangini, Vice President and Director of Marketing and Communications at NJBankers. “Our pledge to donate one million meals over five years to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey goes beyond financial support—it’s a commitment to nourishment, dignity, and hope for those in need. This statewide volunteer effort is just one example of that dedication.”
